Man at Work

Once a month, I do a Saturday morning garbage route (for businesses that can't go all weekend without service: resturants, rest homes, etc). This is also when I pick up our own trash. We just keep a 2 yard dumpster behind our house. If I have to dump the load, I usually take Cameron with me to the transfer station (it goes on semis from Ferndale to Seattle? and then on train to eastern Oregon). Wow! 3 posts in one night. That reminds me, I am going to slow down on the "From the Archives" and only post them when I have a big stretch of nothing. Toodles.

This is what I do every day. Between me and the other recycle driver, we fill up a 30 yard roll-off container about every day and a half. This is in the yard at work and I usually dump twice a day. (plus empty my truck twice a day too)

Flooding

Well after all that snow, the weather warmed up and it all melted pretty fast. On top of that, we got 3 days of rain in a row and now we have flooding. All of these pics I stole from the Bellingham Heralds website. It was way worse the more south towards Seattle you went. I couldn't believe how fast the water rose and fell again. I didn't have time to get any pics myself. We were high and dry, but not the city of Ferndale as this first pic shows.

Landslide on Mt Baker Highway. I have to recycle this area on Tuesday- don't think this guy is going to be picked up.

On Friday, I brought my camera with me to get some pics, but the water had gone down on all of the city streets. I did manage to shoot this video on the Guide. I am going to start putting videos on YouTube, so they don't chew up my free blogspot memory. You can double click on the video and it will play it in YouTube.com. This way it is a little bigger and clearer. I had to reduce the size on my blog because there isn't enough room with my guestbook on the side.

Howdy Ya'll

So Leshia has been using her new sewing machine a lot and here is her first project: a smock for Nikki (I don't know what that is- but that is what I am being told)

Note: we are not responsible for what Cameron wears in pics because she changes her clothes alot!
